Cafe and Charity Shop Project

Working with Lorna who is Deputy Head at Uplands Special Needs School, Swindon we are hoping to help them develop a school cafe and shop.  This will provide training for their pupils in cafe skills and enterprise. Possibly starting as an Interact Club within the school. Dave from the Service Projects Group is liaising with this project and will keep members up-to-date and tell us what we need to do.

We have secured the donation of furniture, restaurant and kitchen equipment, and a collection of utensils required by the school to start work on their project to provide a coffee bar/shop in North Swindon. This is due to the generosity of Catalent Pharma Solutions in Blagrove. Although the school are still awaiting the confirmation of the lease details for the property this is an important step in getting the project off the ground. I hope in the near future we can, as a group, assist in the work required to get the project going.

Development of Interact Club

President Tim spoke to the School Council on Tuesday 15th January 2013 to propose the establishment of an Interact Club, meeting monthly at a lunchtime 12.30.p.m. to 1.00.p.m which was approved.  Any members of the Club who would like to help please contact Tim.
