Come stroll round the beautiful parkland at the National Trusts Croome Park, Worcester on Sunday 30th September. Marvel at the splendor of Capability Browns first and only designed house and learn about the people who lived there…from the Earl of Coventry to a Hare Krishna sect and their Lamas.
Oh…and get to meet your fellow e.club members too, and help Tim with his good intentions to get some exercise !
Croome is about 15 minutes drive from M5 junction for Worcester South. Follow the A44 signed towards Pershore and then follow the signs to Croome Park.
Meet at 1pm in the main visitor car park. Bring a picnic or enjoy National Trust lunch or afternoon tea in the “RAF “cafe. Toilets available in the visitor centre.
We will stroll round the grounds at an easy pace enjoying the landscaped park and then visit the house where the empty rooms tell their own story. Comfy shoes are advised and we will go out whatever the weather !
National Trust members free, otherwise there is an admission charge. Let me know if you are a real hardship case !

tim and me will be there – need to get the exercise! When we first started talking aobut having a picnic at Croome Park it was with an idea of working in Partnership with the National Trust to put on an event (or do something) next year. Is this still the case?

So sorry Katharine, shall be just back from a few days away and on the verge of another sortie away for a few days. But I hope that it goes well; late September can be a wonderful time for walking and exploring. Best wishes that it proves an enjoyable outing for all who are there on 30th.

Meet at 1pm in the RAF cafe at Croome Court. There is a table reserved under the name of Katharine Hope. Harvest Lunches ( chicken or carrot and nut loaf) are available at 10.00 per head for two courses. Otherwise there is a selection of soup and sandwiches.
At 2.30 we will go and visit the House. Hopefully we will get a guided tour from one of the volunteers. The story of the house, which was designed by Capability Brown is fascinating. Entrance is free to Nt members but there is a 5.00 charge for the guded tour. Think of this as a donation to Croomes Red Wing appeal !
