Welcome to a different way of networking – Every fourthTuesday morning.
Each month we explore business issues, reports and feature ethical businesses to help us find the best products and services. It is open to Rotarians and non Rotarians alike. This week we hear from eRotarian Enda Young who runs a training and consultancy company based in Belfast which is also a charity.
TIDES Training & Consultancy is an award winning ethically based peacebuilding charity based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. We offer Conflict Management, Community Relations, Good Relations, Diversity, Equality and Mediation Training. Our team designs and delivers programmes to empower people with practical skills to: deal with the challenges of everyday life, address the legacy of political violence and engage with a more globalised society. We have a reputation built on the proven ability to develop training programs that are creative and relevant. We work primarily across the Community, Public and Private sectors of Northern Ireland and have an extensive portfolio of work internationally.
Our ethos at TIDES is based on “Building Capacity for Peaceful Change” through Transformation of attitudes, contexts and relationships, Recognition of mutual Interdependence, Positive engagement with Diversity, the building of an Equitably and just society framed by Sustainable structures at both a social and ecological level.
Much of our work is geared towards developing confidence and trust building across all parts of the community in NI, with a view towards building a sustainable peace. As a recognized National and Local Open Colleague Network Accredited centre we aim to equip people with practical skills to deal with the challenges of everyday life, address the legacy of political violence and engage with the changing demographics. Through our formal mediation service we provide facilitative and transformative mediations to communities and organisations throughout NI.
As an organisation, TIDES Training uses a broad repertoire of training methods including a facilitative dialogue and experiential learning. Through our work in Good Relations, Conflict Management and Mediation, we have built up a vast store of experience and practical examples which can be used to enliven the learning experience for course participants. Wherever possible we engage all of these approaches through a collaborative and systemic partnership with other organisations working locally and/or internationally for peace.

Sounds like you are doing some very worthwhile work both in NI and internationally.
I am a user survivor of mental health services. I am self employed and would love to hear about how your work links with the health services in the UK
