Every Saturday we bring you a quick news update from around the Network which may have passed you by.
As part of the outcomes to the Autism Awareness Workshop, the eClub is now working towards the opening of the Enterprise Training Centre at Uplands School. The Enterprise Training Centre in Stratton Road will be ready soon to be opened by Beards of Swindon. Some painting is needed before the opening so we are looking for volunteers times and days to follow. Please let Tim know if you can spare some time. tim.mason@1100rotaryeclub.org
The Police and Crime Commissioner for Wiltshire and Swindon, Angus Macpherson, has embarked on a major consultation exercise with the bosses of large companies, the owners of small and medium enterprises and the many sole traders. He is organising a free Business Crime Forum at the Corn Exchange in Devizes on Friday 6 September. Chief Constable Pat Geenty will be at the event to take part in a question and answer session. If you would like to attend, please register in advance on the Police and Crime Commissioner’s PCC Website. Doors open at 8.45am and the event runs from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
Peace in our time. eRotarian Enda Young who is a Rotary Peace Fellow and who is based in Belfast will be ‘joining’ us at the face time event at Kevin Leaning’s house on the 21st September. He will be helping the eClub to be involved in the online event for International Peace Day.
Enda works as a Peacebuilding practitioner with a specific interest in systemic processes & mediation.
Congratulations to Amanda Watkins who has been appointed to the role of Secretary of Rotary in Britain and Ireland (RIBI).
