Programme for week commencing 24th July, 2014
Just don’t think about pulling rabbits out of hats, help us build a better and bigger organisation and pull out your enthusiasm and energy to help promote Rotary and encourage people to join, as the magic is in your hands.
As Click 4 Action eRotary we are pioneering different new ways to promote joining Rotary and getting involved with an organisation that puts forward the ideal of Service above Self. Our hope is to offer this opportunity in many different ways depending on circumstance, capacity and the willingness to include the whole family, so modern Rotary caters for all, when they are able and wherever they live.
For Rotary International membership development is a key part of its strategy, as currently we have 1.2 million members and the new RI President Gary would like to see this rise to 1.3 million, so there is much encouragement to all of us to ask people to get involved.
So as we consider the coming year, how can you help in this membership drive? If someone saw the badge you are wearing (our Rotary pin), how do you tell them what we do and why they should consider getting involved. Since the very beginning of Rotary over 100 years ago, it has been by Rotarians asking colleagues, friends and members of the family, that has ensured we’ve grown and developed. Yes you just have to ask, many of our current members when asked ‘Why did you join Rotary?’ reply ‘because someone just asked me’.
So this week we ask all members of Click 4 Action eRotary:
- Who do you know who might be interested?
- If you ask them if they are interested what do you say in 5 minutes that will enthuse them?
With our eRotary don’t forget we offer ways in which they can try it out to see if it suits them, but it will still need you to mentor them and help them to get involved in activities either physically or online. We also have different opportunities and don’t forget to let them know it costs less than a coffee a week to belong to an international network where together we can make a real difference in our world.
Yes the Magic of Rotary needs sharing and we hope you will help ensure that the Rotary network grows and Click 4 Action eRotary’s Opportunities are being offered in your circles of contacts.
